Areas of Impact
In choosing to create a lasting gift, you can support the broad or specific causes that matter to you most. The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia's in-depth knowledge of our local community, Israel and the Jewish world, and our long-term relationships with our partners locally, nationally and globally, enables us to ensure that the purpose of your fund will be carried out as you intend. Among the areas you can impact through your gift are:
Unrestricted Endowment
Whether you contribute to Jewish Federation's Unrestricted Endowment Fund or create a fund in your name or the name of a loved one, unrestricted endowments are the cornerstone of the Jewish Federation's long-term strength. They offer flexibility to address urgent needs as they arise – maximizing impact and ensuring long-term sustainability. These funds support the Jewish Federation and its three core pillars:
- Caring for Those in Need Locally
- Connecting with Israel and Global Jewry
- Securing a Vibrant Jewish Future
Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment - PACE Fund
A PACE can be established with a minimum gift of $25,000. Each year, a percentage of the value of the fund is distributed to the Jewish Federation's Annual Campaign in your name or the name of a loved one. PACE funds give added vitality to the Annual Campaign and help meet the needs of the Jewish community, locally and globally, year after year.
Lion of Judah Endowment - LOJE Fund
A LOJE is a special way for a woman to continue her annual gift forever. With a gift of $100,000 or more, any woman can create a fund which will distribute at least $5,000 per year in her name, in perpetuity, to the Jewish Federation's Annual Campaign of Women's Philanthropy. Establishing a LOJE is a powerful statement of a woman's commitment to tzedakah and provides a legacy to her family and the Jewish community.
Camp Scholarships
Summer camp plays a crucial role in children's development by providing a welcoming environment where they can build lasting friendships and strengthen their identities as proud Jews. To make these experiences accessible and safe, the Jewish Federation provides funding to in-state Jewish day and overnight camps as well as security training and guidance to staff.
Helping Community Security Efforts
As antisemitism continues to rise at historic rates, the Jewish Federation reaffirms its commitment to security. The LiveSecure initiative, in partnership with the Secure Community Network (SCN), funds critical security measures and provides resources that protect 190 Jewish institutions across Greater Philadelphia, including congregations, schools, summer camps and social service agencies.
Fighting Antisemitism
The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia's Center to Combat Antisemitism is dedicated to advocating for the needs, safety and livelihoods of the Jewish people. As part of its commitment to Secure a Vibrant Jewish Future, the Center upholds the value of ezrachut or civic engagement by addressing rising levels of hate through education, litigation, legislation, allyship and community mobilization.
Supporting Israel
No matter the geographic distance, we are intrinsically linked and connected to the Jewish homeland and to Jews around the world. Through our deep partnership with Israel, we vet, assess, and fund year-round needs that promote equity, Jewish pluralism, and security and resilience.
Combating Food Insecurity
Through the Mitzvah Food Program, thousands of food insecure individuals and families in Greater Philadelphia have been provided with access to nutritious meals. The program's four pantries prioritize fresh, frozen, and nonperishable items that are culturally sensitive and take diet requirements into account.
Women of Vision
Women of Vision, Philadelphia's Jewish Women's Foundation, impacts the lives of self-identifying Jewish women and girls across generations and geographic boundaries through strategic grantmaking, advocacy and educational programs leading to social change and social justice.
Jewish Day School Education
Investing in Jewish education ensures the next generation remains deeply connected to heritage and traditions. Jewish day schools throughout the region can use funding for their operational and most pressing needs in order to provide quality education for their students.
Other Jewish Organizations that you Care About
You can support the Jewish organizations, institutions and synagogues that mean the most to you through a planned gift with the Jewish Community Foundation.
